Has the American Genre of "Bro" Comedy disappeared?

When I was about 13 Billy Madison came out. For the next 20 or so years there was always one or two Simpsons-type sarcastic, "bro-ey" movies in the theatres, usually starring one or more of the same cast of actors - early ones with SNL members who were of Adam Sandler's generation, but I'm more thinking of films like:
Talladega Nights, Zoolander, Hot Tub Time Machine, Neighbors, Anchorman, Superbad, Blades of Glory, 21/22 Jump Street, Harold and Kumar, Bridesmaids, Joe Dirt, 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, I Love You Man, and others like that..
Yes, I am a white man. I know that we all benefit from having lots of funny movies from different perspectives like "Sorry to Bother You", "Jojo Rabbit", "Ladybird" and other movies that push the envelope, offer a different point of view, and are as interesting as they are funny.
But I also would like to still have the option of seeing some dumb movie with endless rewatch value that falls within the genre of those movies listed above too. The last time I saw a new movie that felt like this was C*ck Blockers.
Am I just not paying attention or do these kinds of movies - I guess they could most honestly be characterized as sarcastic, mostly white man, movies - just not getting made anymore? Is there really a feeling in hollywood that there's not market for this or are these movies still around and I'm just unaware of them?

Survivor Cook Islands & Asian Representation

All the prior Survivor seasons are available on Amazon Prime. This includes the season where the tribes are separated by racial/ethnic lines, Cook Islands. I found the season very interesting, and I think most people here would as well. I recommend you watch it on Amazon Prime if you want to look at Asian American representation back in 2006. At that time, probably the biggest major mainstream representations of Asian Americans on TV. This was also the year Harold & Kumar came out. Survivor was a big hit in the 2000s, so this was a big deal.
Some interesting points, but beware spoilers below. I'll try to keep it as vague as I can, but some of this info might actually motivate you to watch the show:
An Asian American ends up winning it
An Asian ends up making it, that legitimately cares about Asian American issues, stereotypes, and representation. This person not only cares about it, they openly talk about it from the first episode to the finale. On a major hit TV show, and at that time the #1 or close to top rated TV show. For those too young to remember, Survivor changed television in a major way when it first came out. It was so influential, Lost ended up being inspired by it.
An Asian man and Asian woman have the strongest bond on the island
2 cast members basically form a strong alliance. They're extremely loyal to each other. They both also connect on a cultural level, and a strong trust level.
How often did you see that on TV or film in the 2000s? How often do you even see that now?
The gay Asian was not stereotypical
They casted the gaysian as we've seen the cliche in Hollywood 100x over. Except this guy looked like he could dominate any physical challenge on the island. This guy cared about Asian American issues, stereotypes, and representation. He openly talks about this, and how he didn't want to fit stereotypes. In fact, he wasn't worried about fitting stereotypes at all, because he felt he was the opposite of those stereotypes.
There was an Asian that kept on making Asian jokes everyone hated
There was an older Asian who kept on making constant Asian jokes, and this would drive other people in the tribe crazy. By his own description, he is a "boater." He also says he does not fit in with other Asians, as he's not white collar, doesn't wear a suit, and doesn't look educated. He dislikes the idea of the Asian tribe because he openly admits he doesn't get along with other Asians.
He also creates a strategy in the game that is used for many years after. He also seems the most comfortable outdoors of all the Asians in the tribe, being the most efficient at starting fire, and being able to climb trees, and to gather food. Despite not fitting in he says he trusts his Asian tribe mates even though they do not like him. He also correctly predicts something that majorly changes the game that none of his other tribe mates - including the winner or other Asians are able to predict.
Interestingly, he points out the generational gap, and how he's a refugee and the other Asians are not. He says he's more hippie than typical Asian American. But he has a dragon tattoo and also has some old-world practices. The generational gap is stark and is on full blown display like we've never seen before, and I still don't think we've seen on more display in media than here.

Anyways, there's a pandemic, you need entertainment. Survivor is great, and there are many other interesting things that happen that I did not mention in order to avoid completely spoiling intrigue. Many of you will find this season extremely entertaining.

I agree with you that you should always put your issues at the forefront, I've seen a lot of Asian activists (mainly women but dudes like Arthur Chu) pathetically obsesses antiblackness in Asians (as a way to pander and gain intersectionality points) and issues surrounding black people. I'm not against solidarity but the problem is that currently ask the average person what issues face Asians and they wouldn't know where to begin because the image is that life is cosy for you guys so it's kinda dumb for these activist to be focusing on other people's issues when your voices ain't even being heard.
My brotha Petum hit the nail on the head, but he got one thing wrong. It's not just us that has a problem. It's America that has a problem. We're her problem. The only reason she has a problem is she doesn't want us here. America has a Chinaman problem.
Yes, even today.
Let me tell you a story. It's not a tale of assimilation, or integration, or inclusion. It's a story about exclusion, about alienation, about being a perpetual foreigner. Spoiler alert: it does not have a happy ending, or at least, not yet.
I grew up in the Midwest. When I was young, I attended a public school in a prominent university town. This being the breadbasket of America, the demographics were about what you would imagine -- primarily white, with a sizable scattering of black, and maybe one Native American. Asians were as rare as the dodo.
I remember about the 1st or 2nd grade, kids started to split into their own small groups. Like oil and water, we all separated into our own little color coded gangs. Since there was a dearth of kids that looked like me, I fell in with a crew of white rugrats. These guys rode the bus with me, lived next door to me, and shared desks around mine. It was a natural sorting.
I still remember, clear as day, when I realized I was different. We were all walking together in a single file on the playground when one of the kids, I forget his name (Daniel? Michael? John?), turned around and, for no reason whatsoever, punched me in the stomach.
I was so shocked that I couldn't react. Breathless, and slightly embarrassed, I remember confusedly trying to make sense of things. I hadn't done anything wrong. We didn't have any beef; no insults had been slung, no toys had been fought over. It was just a regular, normal day, same as any other day, but for whatever particular reason, that day my so-called friends had decided to fuck with a chink (I'm actually a gook, but whatever).
Apparently, my story is not unique. From The Leadership Conference, a civil and human rights coalition:
Across the nation, the Associated Press found that Asian students say they are often beaten, threatened, and called ethnic slurs by other young people, and school safety data suggest that the problem may be worsening. Youth advocates say these Asian teens, stereotyped as high-achieving students who rarely fight back, have for years borne the brunt of ethnic tension as Asian communities expand and neighborhoods become more racially diverse. "We suspect that in areas that have rapidly growing populations of Asian Americans, there often times is a sort of culture clashing," said Aimee Baldillo of the National Asian Pacific American Legal Consortium (now the Asian American Justice Center).
In 2005, while waiting on a subway platform in Brooklyn, New York, 18 year-old Chen Tsu was accosted by four high school classmates who demanded his money. After Tsu showed his classmates his pockets were empty, they assaulted him, taking turns beating his face. Tsu was scared and injured — bruised and swollen for several days — but hardly surprised. At his school, Lafayette High in Brooklyn, Chinese immigrant students like him are harassed and bullied so routinely that school officials in June agreed to a Department of Justice consent decree to curb alleged "severe and pervasive harassment directed at Asian-American students by their classmates." Said Tsu after his beating, "Those guys looked like they could kill somebody. ... I was scared to go back to school."
In South Boston, 16 year-old Vietnamese student Bang Mai was killed on July 11, 2004 in a massive brawl between white and Vietnamese youths. The basketball court brawl was the result of weeks of tension between the two groups. Mai was fatally stabbed as he attempted to walk away from the brawl. Sixteen year-old Keith E. Gillespie was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to five years in prison.
In Fresno, California at Edison High School, Hmong students had been taunted and had food thrown at them during lunch. On February 25, 2005, the taunts escalated into fights involving at least 30 students, resulting in numerous injuries, suspensions, and expulsions. Eight students were convicted of misdemeanor assault.
The incident stuck with me. It's what psychologists call a "flashbulb memory" -- an event forever seared into my brain. I remember nursing a grudge, filled with growing anger and hate, to the point that the next time I saw DanielMichaelJohn during PE, I threw a basketball into his face apropos of nothing.
What happened afterwards was telling. DMJ immediately went crying to the school's principal, and I was sent to an after-school counseling session where I voiced my frustrations at my growing awareness of the racial divisions that I saw during recess as articulately as a prepubescent toddler can manage. The result? I was told that I was crazy, that I had anger management issues, and that I needed to go to therapy. My parents were called in; my mother shrieked at me, my dad just laughed. I always loved my dad.
The funny thing is, I used to get into it with black kids too. On the basketball court, playing on a 7 foot rim, a black child would call me "chink", I'd call him "nigger", and then we would scrap. Nobody broke us up. Nobody stopped us, even when my hands were around a kid's neck. No parents got involved. We duked it out, dusted ourselves off, and went back inside dutifully when the school bell rang. Most of my friends through highschool were black.
Speaking of highschool, I played a lot of sports. Football, wrestling, crew. I wasn't particularly athletic, but I thought that these were just natural pasttimes of young male students everywhere, and I wanted to belong to something. I remember watching as my teammates all went through hormone stages and puberty, and locker room tales started circulating about girls.
I never joined in on those conversations. You see, I had no clue what they were talking about, with their lurid whispers and tales of high intrigue of sneaking into some young chick's bedroom while her parents were away on some weekend getaway. I couldn't even tell what was real and what was fiction -- I never got the looks, the giggles, the whispers. My first girlfriend in highschool was Mexican, and she didn't even attend my school.
When I went away to college, I spent my freshman year in an all-white dorm. It played out exactly the same as the scene from elementary school. We'd just be chilling, hanging out, and then when we got drunk/high, the words "nigger" and "chink" and "spic" started being slung around at an alarming rate. What was alarming was not just the frequency, but the casualness of it. Despite being a huge, public, liberal institution, these young college-educated Caucasian males who were all aspiring to be this country's next sports stars, presidents, and CEOs (well, considering we were a D1 school, maybe a step below all those things, but you grok me) were racist as fuck. They just were racist behind closed doors now, apparently their parents had scolded them into behaving themselves in public.
I didn't hook up or get laid at all that year, despite me attending a shit ton of house parties and fraternity orgies. I was often the target of racial barbs and slurs, to which I reacted, overreacted, violently. Eventually, for my own mental health, I decided I needed to walk away. I received competing bids for both a White frat and Asian frat, and I decided, fuck it, whatever, I've done White my whole life, let's try something different.
Joining that frat saved my life. I felt like I went through a second adolescence, except this time, I actually experienced the things that an adolescent should - partying, camaraderie, late night drunk talks, impromptu pickup games in our parking lot, first (second and third) loves, etc. I met friends, some of whom became life-long, and fundamentally grew into the person I am today. I got a life.
Eventually, college ended, we all grew up, and moved out to different parts of the country. Nowadays, I toil away in an air-conditioned cubicle inside a giant ant farm sticking out from the center of a Midwestern heartland city like an angry zit, while racial tensions seethe beneath the surface. Working as a corporate management drone in the back office, I see things that most worker bees don't, and what I see is alarming. Same shit, different day. It's elementary/high school/college all over again, except now I don't have any brothers to reach out to. Well, except y'all, my black friends, and a few close bros from college.
So what, right? So what, everybody has problems. Every race has problems. What is your problem? What is the Asian American problem? Don't you guys lead a relatively cozy life? Aren't you all the highest earners in this country as a demographic? What the hell do you have to bitch about? Is it bullying? Immigration? Not getting laid? The struggle with poverty by Southeast Asians? So what?
So what, indeed.
Let's talk about the bamboo ceiling. The term "bamboo ceiling" was coined by Jane Hyun in her book focusing on Asians in the workplace. Like many sisters who achieve mainstream recognition, Jane is a straight Anna Lu. Her book The Bamboo Ceiling: Career Strategies for Asians sits on a bookshelf right outside my work elevator. It is defined as "a combination of individual, cultural, and organizational factors that impede Asian Americans' career progress inside organizations". This impediment is said to arise from the importance (White) America places on subjective factors such as "lack of leadership potential" and "lack of communication skills."
Fucking eyeroll. Y'all know my, and researchers', take on this (Berdahl 2012). "Communication" and "leadership" skills are just dogwhistles. See the below excerpt:
In Cheng’s (1996) studies on masculinities in organizations, college students had to select among their classmates people who would serve as leaders for group projects and what values they needed to possess. He found that all the leadership values students were looking for were based on hegemonic masculinity. What naturally followed was the selection of mostly White men to be group leaders followed by White women who emulated masculine behaviors. Of all the racial and gender groups, Asian American men were the least likely to be chosen for leadership positions within their class. Students cited meritocracy to rationalize their decisions. However, when Cheng analyzed all the selected leaders based on merit alone, the Asian American men were more qualified than the students who were selected.
Source: Asian American Masculinity: A Review of the Literature http://men.sagepub.com/content/14/3/379.full.pdf
Of course, articles regarding the subject written in popular rags like Crains, Fortune magazine, and the Atlantic have all reinforced this textbook whitesplaining. Let's just call a spade a spade -- the bamboo ceiling is a result of racism. Period. End of.
Or maybe not. I mean, yes, our sister Jane was onto something, even if her explanation of it was misguided. There is a very real bamboo ceiling. Even the US Department of Labor came to the same conclusion (Woo 1994).
In sum, personal, cultural, or other group deficits are reasons which have been offered to explain promotional barriers. Survey responses have underscored Asian American employees' perceptions of barriers, which include not only language deficiencies but external barriers such as arbitrary or subjective evaluations, the absence of mentoring or sponsorship, and exclusion from informal networks. Obstacles to career advancement cannot be attributed to simple cultural parochialism or clannishness.
In terms of negative long-term consequences for mobility for Asian Americans, the culture of corporate America was identified in one study as "the most serious type of impediment by far to upward mobility."
Straight from our government's own mouth. Btw, my Master's was in Industrial Labor Relations, so this study had me geeking a bit. To hear the perspective of some voices from within our own community, check out this NPR transcript. LEAP does good work, check em out and support em, brothers.
Back to my original point. If the US government itself, and the numerous articles about Silicon Valley published recently point to there being a clear case of racial discrimination in the workplace, why do I say this is not a case of race discrimination?
Because it ain't. Jane saw the ceiling, but she didn't see the bars. Sure, there's a bamboo ceiling, but there's also bamboo walls, and a bamboo floor. This tiny jail cell we've all been crammed into by virtue of being born with yellow skin and slanty eyes.
This shit here? This shit right here, ninja? This shit is caste discrimination. In America, race is caste.
The social disparity between Negro classes and the White classes is particularly disconcerting to upper class Negroes.
In his own personality he feels the conflict of two opposing structures, and in thinking and feeling of the members of both groups there is to be found this same conflict about his position... Although he is at the top of the Negro class hierarchy, he is constantly butting his head against the caste line.
American Caste and Class (Warner 1936)
My brothers, we do not have it "better" than other minorities. In fact, we're touching on something that y'all have known since birth. Why is it that we as a demographic are treated differently when it comes to issues of race in America? How come, despite all our educational attainment and high median income, we're still constantly shitted on, harassed, bullied, jailed, killed? Why is racism towards Asian, particularly Asian men, okay?
It's because we're the motherfucking Dalit.
You see, this goes beyond "micro-aggressions" or "hate crimes". This goes beyond class, where, yes, we seem to superficially be doing well on average because of demographic gerrymandering. The fundamental fact is that America is just as much a caste system as the old Hindu order.
Varna may be translated as "class," and refers to the four social classes which existed in the Vedic society, namely Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras. Certain groups, now known as Dalits, were historically excluded from the varna system altogether, and are still ostracised as untouchables.
Except we call them Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, LGBT, Asians. Unlike class, which is defined by averages, the mark of your caste is how high you can rise to a position of social and cultural prominence in society. Do you know when we'll see an Asian American POTUS? According to 1 in 4 Americans, fucking never.
The survey found more Americans were uncomfortable voting for an Asian-American for president (24 percent of those surveyed) than for a candidate who was African-American (15 percent), a woman (14 percent) or Jewish (11 percent).
Nearly one half, or 46 percent, of those surveyed felt that with Chinese-Americans "passing secrets to the Chinese government is a problem," according to the survey, sponsored by the Committee of 100, a group of prominent Chinese-Americans.
Thirty-two percent felt Chinese-Americans were more loyal to China than the United States, it said, and 24 percent said they would not approve of intermarriage with an Asian-American.
Still don't believe me?
Jāti may be translated as caste, and refers to birth; that is, the caste into which one is born. The names of jātis are usually derived from occupations, and considered to be hereditary and endogamous
Asians: Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers. We grow through immigration, not reproduction. And the bulk of that immigration come from very specific, rigidly defined occupations.
You want to be an engineer, a doctor, or a lawyer? Great! Come through to our country, we have a spot on the sugar plantation for you. Just make sure you're neutered first, don't ever breed with any of the locals unless you want trouble, and make sure you die nice and quiet without leaving behind too much of a mess.
Want to be President, CEO, superstar? You're shit out of luck, sorry, those roles were not meant for you.
Oh, and while we're keeping you down, let's not forget to poke you with sticks through the bars.
By making it harder to find housing.
By making it harder to find a job.
By paying you less than you're worth.
By firing you first.
By relentlessly bullying and harassing you with no consequences.
Oh, and are you getting too uppity? Have you forgotten that you all made a deal with the devil and swore to become palace eunuchs and concubines? Well never forget that the floor you're standing on is a trapdoor, leading straight to a dungeon.
Harold and Kumar knew what was up.
Let me tell y'all what our problem is. We're lepers. We're the untouchables. We are the BOTTOM CLASS IN A DE FACTO CASTE SYSTEM. Again, the only reason we don't feel full-blown White rage is because we pay tithes to our White overlords and give them our daughters as tribute. See how fast they'll crack down on you once you stop paying them off. Their badged goons will descend on you so fast that your head will spin. To protect and serve... White people, never fucking forget.
So what should we do? What can we do? How do we tear down a social order that's as old as the Mayflower and Plymouth Rock?
We build a nation. There's a reason brother CN Le calls his website asian-nation.org.
You see bros, I'm a nationalist. But not a traditional Asian nationalist, like some of these guys with their heads stuck in the Old World. I'm an Asian-American nationalist. I believe that we need to come together in solidarity, as a community, and fiercely fight the fight that previous generations lost and left to us. I believe we need to stand together, and no longer accept our societal role as neutered housepets, destined to die as the last of our kind. I believe in Yellow Peril.
First things first, get thee to an enclave. We need demographic majorities in the cities we live in, if we want to build a nation. LA is a start. New York is good too. Some parts of Texas. The more numbers we have, the more shoulders and backs, the easier it is to create a counterculture to fight back against the dominant White supremacist narrative.
Second, if you have the stomach for it, go into entrepreneurship. But no more of these blind ass "colorblind" hiring practices please. Focus on hiring and promoting each other, particularly our Southeast Asian brothers. Out of all of us, they're the only ones that kept their balls, and you can see White Supremacy already trying to "gentrify" them. It's all over our mainstream AAPI activist orgs that have been hijacked by the enemy. They want them to turn into passive, docile, obedient servants like many East Asians that come here fresh off the boat with a Master's degree and the delusional fantasy of a better life.
Fuck that. We should uplift our own community. We should pour our money, not into white laundering fronts like Louis Vuitton, and Gucci, and an E-class Mercedes, but into these poverty stricken groups who are the only ones serving as our militia. They are the frontline against the police, bros, understand that. We should take care of our soldiers.
Finally, get involved. We need more brothers to speak for our community. Our political apathy must fucking end. Our sisters are either drifting along in opium dreams, or have turned traitor. We need more uncompromising brothers like this one to shout down the palace eunuchs:
“Did you read the book?” I asked. “If you can find any crumb of a complete thought in the book that remotely infers ‘America is great,’ I’ll read the line.”
“Eddie, we need it for the episode. It’s a big moment! You have a black kid and a Chinese kid breaking bread over a Jewish hip-hop concert. Where else could this happen? America IS great!”
“Of course you picked a Beastie Boys concert. That’s what you people do — you make Asian sitcoms for white people praising Ill Communication because we’re both acceptable, unthreatening gateways to black culture. These kids couldn’t break bread at a Gravediggaz show?”
“How about a compromise? What about ‘Ain’t America great?’ or ‘America’s not half-bad!’”
I’d known Asian-Americans like Melvin my entire life. Those Booker T. Washington –Professor X–Uncle Chans, willing to cast down their buckets, take off Cerebro, and forget that successful people of color are in many ways “chosen” and “allowed” to exist while the others get left behind. They spout off about the American Dream or Only in America as if they’re about to rob the next great fighter from Brownsville. I empathize with Melvin, but Uncle Chans are basically born-again-Christian felons who will praise anything as long as they don’t get sent back to Rikers. I’d rather be Tunechi, “Left Rikers in a Phantom, that’s my nigga.”
http://www.vulture.com/2015/01/eddie-huang-fresh-off-the-boat-abc.html
That's my ninja. Mad props to Eddie, he's a real brother.
And if you no longer have the courage to step to White Supremacy because they've taken your balls, or they turned you into such a bitch that you start apologizing for them, at least turn to internet spaces and slacktivism. If you can't set the streets on fire, the least you can do is bitch on Twitter and engage in hashtag activism. Remember Suey Park? Remember the hullabaloo around #NotYourAsianSidekick?
Well, let's go one step further.

[EFFORT] Sidekicks, Menaces, and Whitewashing- The Invisibility of the Asians in Western Media

Mod note: Something Awful superstar KPrime wrote this awesome effortpost, but has wisely refrained from registering an account on this website.
Dear reader, let us start with an exercise.
Think of the first movie or character that comes to mind for each of these questions or statements. Don't worry too much about it- whatever comes to mind first, even (especially!) if it's “fucked if I know.” Should only take you a minute to do all of this.
Note: Western movies only here, the answers are obviously a lot easier if you include, say, Hong Kong or Tokyo Cinema.
  1. Think of the last movie you saw or heard about where an Asian man has an on-screen romance with someone.
    A. Last movie where they kissed
    B. Last movie with a sex scene
    C. Last movie where the other person wasn't Asian
  2. Now do the same for an Asian woman- Except, replace 1C with “WAS Asian.”
  3. Think of the last movie that had an Asian lead that did not in any way involve martial arts.
    A. Yes, gun-fu counts, nice try
Done? I'm willing to bet you have a lot of blank spots- and if you're anything like me, half of your answers are “Harold and Kumar.”
Next question is obvious: Why the exercise? What does all of this mean?
We'll get back to that later. For now, just keep it in mind while I talk about the first and foremost problem with the portrayal of Asians in media- the removal or corruption of portrayals by whitewashing. Whitewashing, for anyone who is unaware, is the process by which roles that are obviously Asian or in general non-white are changed into roles for white actors and actresses.
The easy example here is the infamously shitty movie adaptation of Avatar, The Last Airbender. Let's demonstrate with a series of pictures!
http://i.imgur.com/YqaZz.jpg
This is the female lead of the series, Katara. She's pretty cool- as you may be able to tell by her garb, her background is Inuit inspired. Pretty clearly a Native American or Native Asian role.
http://imgur.com/EeOzO.jpg
This is her brother, Sokka. Same idea.
Now, let's see what they look like in the movie.
http://i.imgur.com/IPcGV.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/9xyZC.jpg
...Oh. Well then.
What about our erstwhile hero, Aang?
http://i.imgur.com/fXRlH.jpg
As you can tell by his color scheme and lack of hair, Aang is based on something between a Tibetan monk and a Shaolin monk. Either way, pretty clearly an Asian role, right? Let's see his movie version.
http://i.imgur.com/3A1Ru.jpg
...Well, that's a bit of a trend. You can argue it's not as egregious as the previous two, but still.
What about our conflicted antagonist, the driven and angry Prince Zuko?
http://i.imgur.com/DnHS5.jpg
His aesthetic is pretty clearly based on the Qin Dyntasy of China- if you've ever seen pictures or been lucky enough to visit the famous Terracotta Soldiers at the tomb of Qin Shi Huang Di, you can see the resemblance in his armor. Let's see who they tried to cast as him originally.
http://i.imgur.com/IWT8m.jpg
Wait, wait! Luckily ex-Bieber Jesse McCartney was forced to drop out due to other commitments, and we got an actually Asian replacement! Amazing!
http://i.imgur.com/Tz6UJ.jpg
...hang on a second here. Something is bugging me about this.
Oh, luckily enough some kind folks have bashed together something already to explain what it is.
http://i.imgur.com/5V07H.jpg
Funny how that works out, isn't it.
So Hollywood managed to take a series about Asians fighting other Asians in fantasy Asia, and turn it into white people fighting brown people, by whitewashing roles in a way that removes positive Asian roles and corrupts the narrative, making them only the villains. This is an example of what is referred to in identity politics parlance as “Otherization,” something that has plagued all minorities- the ideation of members of a group as monolithic “others” who can be distrusted and cannot be portrayed except as stereotypes. It is a fundamental dehumanization of the group being otherized.
This is why whitewashing is so harmful: it removes from the public consciousness a portrayal of this “other” group as a human being similar to them, and in many cases replaces it with yet another portrayal of them as little more than a stereotype. Not only does this lead to mistreatment of minorities in person, it can lead to far, far darker things. When European powers were pillaging, raping, and murdering their imperialist way across the Middle East and the rest of Asia, they justified it with a larger scale form of otherization which is now referred to as “Orientalism”- a belief that Asian cultures were fundamentally similar to each other, and fundamentally different from European cultures in a way that meant nothing was possible except conquest and conversion. The echoes of this attitude are still with us to this day- many stereotypes of Asians of all stripes stem from orientalist views, and anti-immigrant backlash against Asians is often heavily based in an idea that the culture they bring with them is just too different for things to work. When you hear someone rail against those dirty foreigners, you're hearing the centuries old voice of Orientalism roaring from a new mouth.
For further examples of whitewashing in modern Hollywood, consider that there is an Akira (yes, the anime) movie being made- with no Asian actors whatsoever apparently involved. For a movie that has already been released, the movie 21 portrays a primarly white group of students where the original group was majority Asian- the Asians in the movie are relegated to a pair of token nerds.
Now that we've laid some basic groundwork, back to the questions. Why are they important?
Each question illustrates a brick in the otherization wall for the portrayal of Asians in the media- a stereotype or tendency that contributes to the idea that Asians are different and abnormal. The first lesson of the first question is pretty obvious- Asian men are consistently portrayed as either sexless or sexually predatory.
As an illustrative example, let's look at the Jet Li movie Romeo Must Die. As you may be able to tell, said movie is a retelling of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, with Jet Li as Romeo and, importantly, Aaliyah as Juliet. Some changes have been made, of course- both leads survive, and in the end stand together, in love and victorious... then share a hug and walk off together.
Wait, what? A Romeo and fucking Juliet retelling without as much as a kiss?
Here's the thing- a kiss scene was filmed, and then promptly removed, because test viewers found a kiss been an Asian man (Jet fucking Li, ladies and gentlemen) and a black woman too distasteful, because Asian men aren't supposed to be sexhavers. I haven't even heard of a movie where an Asian man gets to have an on-screen sex scene with anybody.
“Well, that's just the consumers being racists” you might say. “You can't blame the studios for bowing to what their customers want.”
Yes, I fucking can. By bowing to such pressures, the studios tacitly reinforce them- in the same way that remaining silent during a racist joke allows the person to continue being a racist.
Anyway, it's not like this is a new thing. The archetypical Asian male roles in media are Martial Artist (sexless), Mentor (sexless), Sidekick (sexless), Nerd (sexless or possibly predatory in an ineffectual way), and Predatory Villain (sexual, but only in a way intended to scare white people). Asian men are not romantic leads, ever- because their sexuality is either nonexistent, constrained to a frightening or “humorous” attempt at getting “white women,” or tokenized to a equally stereotyped Asian woman. And the impact of such portrayals is pretty easy to see- why is it that Asians are the ones who are stereotyped as having small penises?
So that's the point of the first question. What about the second?
The second is an illustration of the way Asian women are portrayed in media. Sure, unlike Asian men they are “permitted” to be romantic and sexual... but only in a way that emphasizes their submission to men. In a way, they are stuck in the same “sexless/predatory” dichotomy as the men, as their sexuality is not used as an active expression but a passive one if they're a “good” one, or as a weapon when they're a “bad” one. The language I'm going to use here is offensive, and I'd advise against using it on any real Asian women- but the two stereotypes are most easily thought of as “exotic beauty” and “dragon lady.”
For the purest possible example of the “exotic beauty” archetype, take a look at Memoirs of A Geisha. It's hard to sum up how awful it is without watching it, so if and when you do so, note how much action the main character (in theory) does, and how much she simply passively receives. “Good” Asian women are consistently denied agency- they are passive receivers of the actions of another. On top of that, they are fetishized as “exotic” “different” beauties, another fine example of otherization.
The flip side of this is the “Bad” Asian woman, the Dragon Lady. She gets to be assertive and aggressive and active and many other things starting with A- in return for being “evil,” i.e. likely to be defeated, killed, or converted to “good” via a dicking- and still a secondary character to a man or white person. The absolutely defining example in the last twenty years is Ling Woo from Ally McBeal- another one that really should be experienced to be believed, but I think this description of her from an Asian-American studies professor should about sum it up: "a neo-Orientalist masturbatory fantasy figure concocted by a white man whose job it is to satisfy the blocked needs of other white men who seek temporary escape from their banal and deadening lives by indulging themselves in a bit of visual cunnilingus while relaxing on the sofa."
So the third question's purpose should be obvious at this point- There are almost no depictions of non-martial artist Asians of either gender as lead roles. Asians are almost without exception secondary characters, backup players to a more “American” or “British” or whatever lead. An easy example is any of the Karate Kid movies at all- note how the main character is never Asian, only the mentor. The Asian occupies a secondary position to the accomplishments of the non-Asian, always and forever. Watch some movies with Asian characters mixed with non-Asian characters, and you'll see this dynamic literally everywhere you look- The Green Hornet, The Forbidden Kingdom, Kill Bill, the list goes on and on.
Now, to the point- What should you take away from this? I know I've left a lot of gaps where I've asked you to do some of your own reading and watching and thinking- so what is it I am trying to say?
What I am trying to say is that the media tells you that Asians aren't people.
Fight it.

American Pie Cast?

I realize now that there were a lot of "crude movies" in the early 2000s with some of the same cast members (Harold and Kumar, American Pie, Van Wilder, etc.). How were the same group of actors making similar movies in that time period and why did they stop getting made? Why did most of the actors not go onto other types of movies?
I guess another question is why/how have comedies progressed since the early 2000s to reach the point they are at now?
I realize this is a convoluted question and may not make total sense.

Questions Answers
The next time I see you on the subway I'm going to yell something at you, what should it be? "WHOA, IT'S THE GUY WITH THE HUGE DICK!"
Amir: Please tell me Prank War isn't over. When will we be seeing a new prank? I really hope it's over... I'm next.
How about you go all out offensive and just get him again? He'll never see it coming. Streeter, if you're reading this, don't eat my vest man, i'm serious, don't eat the vest! Lol.
Have you ever gone dickless for Michael Chiklis? Not yet but we're willing to. Literally this afternoon.
Amir, are you afraid that Streeter might one day come back with one more prank? I am now.
Do you guys have somewhat of a same relationship in life? In real life I annoy Amir.
Do you ever reach a point where you run out of ideas, or where you feel you can't write anything funny, because you've been doing it for so long? We do, but luckily it's only momentarily.
Thankfully we only have to think of one idea per week, so if we couldn't do that, we may have to kill ourselves. Or become accountants or something.
We used to be afraid of that, but I'm not anymore. Our characters are just a part of me now. So literally anything that happens, I can imagine in the context of it happening to me or Amir, and thinking about how our characters would react in that scenario almost always helps to imagine future episodes.
Can I buy the rights to onealmond.com? edit: BURY ME WITH DOWNVOTES IF YOU DISAGREE. Lol. OneAlmond is NOT FOR SALE.
What was it like to work with Harold and Kumar? Also what was it like to act in your first movie? They were awesome and very friendly. I still don't know if they were nice to me because they were trying to make me comfortable so I wouldn't ruin their movie, or if they were genuinely that friendly.
Acting in a movie was a little intimidating at first, but you get used to it after a few days.
When was the first time you were recognized in public and what was it like? I can't remember the first time I was recognized in public, I think it was a very long time ago at the University of Connecticut. Someone recognized me from my articles on CollegeHumor. This was pre- Jake and Amir, pre- me working at CollegeHumor even.
I felt very proud of myself, I'm sure. But I think the thing that really hit me was that making a career out of writing was a viable option. And it felt like CollegeHumor would be the place to do it.
I remember being recognized at my college from an ARTICLE on collegehumor. He recognized my little headshot. it was pretty fun/weird.
Jake, I'm pretty sure I saw you at the Gratitude Cafe in LA about a year ago. You were with a girl, so I didn't want to interrupt, especially if you turned out not to be Jake. I bet it was me. You shoulda said hey!
Will we ever meet Mickey and Amir's Dad? and will we get a Rap Teacher 4? Or is that trilogy over? I hope so... For all three.
1) I’ve noticed that when I’m trying to annoy people I start acting exactly like Amir, do either of you ever find realise that you’ve been acting like your character outside of the show without realising it? 2) What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you because of the show? 3) Question tree. Edit: 4) Love the new podcast! You guys are still really funny without being 'Jake and Amir', what was the inspiration behind the show? 1) Almost constantly. 2) The fact that we get to travel and perform as much as we do still blows my mind. It's weird in a good way.
Who in their right mind would let Amir hold a baby for a full episode? His father is sort of my boss. So...
Amir: How many nuggets would you say is the "perfect" amount? OneNugget.com.
Do you guys still read every fan script posted to /jakeandamir? Have you thought about recording another one? I try to! And yes, it sure would be fun to do that.
Yes we do. Some are really great!
We may record another one...
What was your favorite script to write? To preform? Oh man, I have no idea. Great answer right? I love writing and performing so much that it would really be impossible to choose a favorite. Not to mention we have done over 600 at this point, so sometimes they kind of all run together in this gorgeous, enjoyable, blur.
We have a new Rick Fox one coming out next week that was one of my favorites to perform in recent memory.
I'm a big Laker fan so shooting with Rick Fox is a dream come true every time... New RICK FOX episode tomorrow!
Hey guys! How did Hoodie Allen find his way into your videos? Do you still see him often? I believe Jake's little brother was a fan, so we tweeted at him, and one thing lead to another and now we're in a boy band together!
Who grows the better beard? Me. Obviously, right?
Hi Jake and Amir. Big fan over here! I must ask. When will we see Stony in an episode? Great question! The real question is... does stony WANT to be in an episode...
Milkman please milkman please...
Stony, how much did you pay Eva to ask this? We'd love to have him in one!
Who influences a lot of these ideas? And also how did you get to know Ben Shwartz? Our influences are our friends and enemies.
Ben was a friend of CollegeHumor since back in the day!
Ben has been a friend of CollegeHumor for a long time, we always thought he was super funny and one day we decided to make a video together. We had so much fun that we kept it up. Ben is super busy now but he still makes time for us, which is awesome.
Our ideas are influenced mostly by real life situations these days. Whenever something interesting happens to us we imagine how our characters would react.
Amir, what's it like to simultaneously be the most hated and most liked person on the internet? Every fan action has an equal but opposite fan action. It's Newton's law of the Internet. Just like how every episode we make is the best OR the worst episode ever. Depending on who you ask.
Hey Jake and Amir! Huge fan here. My question is on average, how long do the episodes take to film. To go along with that, what is the longest you have spent on a single scene due to laughing? Episodes take 1-2 hours to shoot, depending on how much we move around. IF we're sitting at our desks, they can take even under an hour.
The longest we spent on a single scene due to laughing is probably a Ben Schwartz or Thomas Middleditch (Doobs) episode, because they crack us up.
Great question. Shoots generally take from 30 minutes to 2 hours. I imagine we've wasted up to an hour not being able to get through something because of laughter. I'm certain it was my fault.
What's the podcast going to be? Comedy? Or genuinely educational? It's going to be us, out of character, genuinely trying to answer life advice questions that we receive from our fans. Hopefully it will make you laugh as well! Check it out and lemme know what you think!
You cool cats think you can hot dog! With a deep V!
But seriously, you guys are hilarious, and I can tell there's a decent amount of improv in your videos. What is your favorite improvised line that found its way into an episode? That's a great question, and so hard to answer. I'm sure there are a million if I really sat and thought about it, but the one coming to my head right now is "HOLY GUAC! This i-pad is ridinky-donky."
Will you let your kids watch Jake and Amir? How will you explain it to them? Great question! Will the internet exist then?
Love the show, but I have one question... when is this guy coming back? Link to v022o.popscreen.com. Great news: Tomorrow.
REALLY? gotta go stock up on eggs then... 144 is not gonna cut it.
When did you guys realize you wanted to do comedy and perform for your career? Probably when I was 16, making dumb videos with my friends in my basement.
It's cool you guys are coming to the UK later this year. Any plans to make any episodes while you're out here? We're excited to come to London as well! Though we probably will just focus on putting on an awesome live show, and taking in Great Britain. No shoots planned for now...
of all I am a huge fan, keep up the good work! I was wondering how you guys met and began working with Rick Fox and, my favorite rapper currently, Hoodie Allen? Also who was it that wrote the aardvark raps? Thanks so much! We are so lucky to be able to work with those guys, we're huge fans of them outside of our videos, and big fans of what they do in our videos too.
Our boss Ricky met Rick Fox at some kind of event and Rick told him his kid was a big Jake and Amir fan. We immediately invited him to be on a video. As for Hoodie, my little brother showed me his music and after becoming a big fan myself, I tweeted at him. The rest is history.
What's the biggest contribution from a fan that you've used in an actual episode? Are you impressed with your fans' extensive knowledge about Jake and Amir? The biggest fan contribution was probably the episode "Crabs" which one the Jake and Amir fan script contest. So we basically produced a script completely written by a fan. We recently asked for fans to upload their intro ideas which we've been slowly using every episode. Those are some pretty big contributions!
Amir do you really have an undescended testicle from an incident at a renaissance festival? :(
Where does Jake work now? Does Amir still work at College Humor? If yes, why does Amir not appear in other original videos anymore? We both work at CollegeHumor still, though in a reduced roll. Our job is to produce Jake and Amir, which is why you see less of us in other videos.
Do your parents and friends consider this a 'real job' or is it as hard as I imagine to be taken seriously when you work in online entertainment? My parents do consider this a real job. I think they were happy that I was motivated to do anything, so even if they didn't understand what online entertainment was, they were happy I wasn't living in their basement.
Who are your biggest influences, not just for Jake and Amir but for comedic writing as a whole? Also I am a huge fan and can't wait to see what else you guys come out with! Keep up the amazing work and thanks for your amazing videos! Also, dinner tonight?! Thanks so much! I was inspired to write comedy after growing up loving movies from Chris Farley, Adam Sandler and Jim Carey. In college, Arrested Development renewed my desire to actively pursue comedy writing.
What do you guys do in your off time? We try to work every weekday. Either writing/shooting/editing "Jake and Amir" or something else. On the weekends I mostly try to relax and recharge my brain by watching basketball, exercising, or eating delicious fresh baked things.
Brainstorm and write. But in our off, off time I like to travel, climb, and PARTY.
Will we see "Mickey Your Friend" in future episodes? The suspense is killing me. Waiting on Matt Damon's reps to get back to us.
How would you describe the chemistry between you two? It seems like you work very well with each other. Each other, and other insecure people around us.
Question- What is the writing process for an episode? Is it just ideas pitched and then a bunch of ad-lib or is there a set script? We have an ongoing gmail thread with hundreds of ideas that pop into our brains... then we write the ones we love the most (maybe 10% of them)
Edit-punctuation. That's the initial writing process. We pitch, ad lib and if we laugh a lot we know the idea has legs. Then we sit and write til we have something we like. Then we look at it again later, and tweak it to make it better. THEN, we improv while we shoot it.
How was the blowjob from the milkman Jake? I know you enjoyed it... LISTEN UP EVERYBODY!
Do you guys plan on doing any more Hoodie Allen episodes? The 3 that are up are my absolute favorites. We want to! Hoodie is an international superstar though, so his schedule has to allow for it...
Hi, first off - thanks for doing this AMA. Alright, have there ever been any scripts/scenes that you've just said "I can't do this"? What has been the hardest episode(s) to film to date, and what generally goes into an episode in terms of props, extra cast members, production, filming, etc. For sure! Thanks for the question. In terms of not doing scenes, we're lucky in that we get to write them ourselves. So generally, we don't write anything we won't be willing to perform. That said, sometimes we laugh too much and can't get the coverage we need. But when that happens we usually just power through and eventually stop laughing, and get the shots.
The hardest ones to film are generally the ones with the most people. The ones at me and Amir's desks are simple set ups. Videos like the ones we did recently with Ben Schwartz and Thomas Middleditch are hard to film because we needed to get so much coverage.
We have a great team that produces and shoots the hell out of whatever we write. So sometimes it's as simple as getting a backpack with a fake snake in it, but sometimes it's as complicated as creating a slimy green stew that Amir can somehow spill all over his face and our office floor.
What was it like working with Rick Fox? He seems like a pretty funny guy. Also, open up that drawer and give me all the eggs in the world. He is the most talented physical specimen I've ever encountered. Tall, handsome, and funny. It's quite a genetic lottery he won.
What is the strangest thing that "Jake and Amir" has required you to do? Have a great day, guys. :] Man, being shirtless in Union Square in February? Amir spitting in my face? Rick Fox slamming a raw egg on my head? Who knows. It's all strange. It's all beautiful.
When do you plan to stop making Jake and Amir? Never.
Hey guys! My favorite episodes have to be the March Madness ones. How did you guys originally come up with your show? We just sat across from eachother and decided one day to tape our silliness...
My dad got so mad for taking part in this AMA that he freakin' moved. WHAT SHOULD I DO??? Hahaha.
Do u guys ever pop in character during your average day by accident? Also how is it working with murph? I grew up with him. funny as heck guy. I wonder if he's still random as all hell. No we never pop into our characters by accident.
It's always on purpose.
Have you ever tried to get a jake and amir tv show? Every episode is a small attempt.
Only all the time.
What show do you guys want to do a guest appearance on the most? What comedians would you love to have on your show? What upcoming film are you looking forward to the most? Britanick - Pete Holmes - Star Trek.
What has happened to the McDonald's addiction amir? He's on a break.
Ever consider selling the old episodes/outtakes/etc on dvd? I know I would drop major bills to get some hardcore behind-the-scene shit. Most of the behind the scenes and outtakes that were worth mentioning are already online for free! You wouldn't want to pay money to see all the footage of us picking our noses and forgetting lines.
of all, thank you so much for doing this AMA, I'm a huge fan. Thank you! I think we use the same amount of improvisation now, we just also write much more efficient scripts.
How much of the show was improvised back in 2007/8 as opposed to now? How long does the filming of an episode take? If you could do a really big-budget episode with guest stars and such, who would be in it and why? I just want to shoot with Matt Damon.
Which guest star was the most fun to work with? Hoodie Allen? Rick Fox? Someone else? They're all amazing. I honestly can't choose. Allison Williams, Rick Fox, Hoodie Allen, Ben Schwartz, Thomas Middleditch... Each one is my favorite.
Jake: Would you consider yourself more of a "Good Jake" or an "Evil Jake?" Can you explain why? I would consider myself a Good Jake, though I wouldn't ask to be referred to exclusively by that nickname, I guess I'm easy going like that. Easy going with a cool attitude. You could call me, Cool Jake, I suppose. I mean, only if you think that's chill.
Vaguely? Vaguely.
Hey jake and amir! Have you ever filmed an episode that you didn't run because it wasn't good enough? Yes! A few... (shutters)
I just recently started watching your show, and I love it! I'm now a fan and I can't wait to watch the rest of your show. Anyways, this question is for Amir: What's it like working with Jake in real life? For Jake: What's it like working with Amir In real life? Awesome! Glad to have you as a fan!
Working with Jake is fun! He's funny and smart and like... really cool. I dunno, he's just a chill dude. I love him I guess. Hahaha. Jesus. I love him.
Favourite doctor suess book? King James Bible.
How is it working at CollegeHumor? It's a joy! Working with your best friends is great.
Amir: I've been following your comedy since the days of BeingFamous.com. I was one of the last people to "be famous" on your site before it changed. I miss your snippits and didn't order the CD of the ones you made. Do you still have those online somewhere? Holy crap! Old school fan. Do you realize those were made TEN YEARS AGO! Crazy. i hope they're not online... they're probably terrible.
Its getting to be spring, time to pull out the sleeveless? A MUSCLE TEE FOR THIS PAPI MAKE THE GIRLS SCREAM "TEE-HEE-HEE!"
What did you use for aardvark cum? Antelope cum.
Amir, does your family ever watch your videos and get weirded out by the long, elaborate nightmares that your character goes through? I'd also like to ask for another episode where Jake tries out a new fashion thing, those are the best! P.S. The commenter above me is a philosopher and a cool. Thanks! What trend do you think we should go with?
When will you end the videos, if ever? Will you go out on your peak? We have no idea. We're just gonna keep doing what we're doing until we suddenly stop or trickle off. I guess we'll see.
So yeah, to answer your question: I don't know.
What a coincidence! Just yesterday my friend texted me a picture of his brother with Jake. Apparently it was at a starbucks in new haven? Jake, convince the internet I'm not crazy! That was me! Very friendly kid.
What is the one thing you guys have done that you're the most proud of, when looking back on it? I don't think I have a single accomplishment that I look back on like that. Maybe because we're still in the moment. But sometimes when we do something cool like sellout a show, or shoot a video with someone I have always looked up to, I think about the two kids shooting Quick Characters on a digital camera and feel proud of how big this silly little idea got.
Now that Rick Fox is a spokesman for The Bahamas, will you guys maybe possibly do an episode or two with him here? Um. We want to.
Help me, someone. I cannot find a Jake and Amir video I watched last year. Amir had broken into Jake's house and was trying to make him breakfast but had made a horribly disgusting mess. Help? Sounds like a job for the script archive! I kind of remember that being a sponsored video? It may have been taken down...
off, the obligatory "I'm a huge fan blah blah" Second, are you guys involved in any other acting or writing jobs besides Jake and Amir that you can tell us about? Nothing to report yet... but I just wanted to tell you I saw the question. Thank you!
How come the episodes with Ben Schwartz are so different from regular episodes? I mean, the regular episodes get crazy sometimes, but Ben episodes like Milkman get really crazy really fast (not in a bad way). Judging from the outtakes you guys seem to have great chemistry with him, so does the extra craziness stem from that, or is it planned due to the nature of the character he plays? We usually just shoot what makes us laugh the most with Ben. And often times that's him going a little crazy.
If you were to have a TV series, how long do you think the episodes would be and would you be able to make content for it easily? If we were lucky enough to have a TV show I imagine the episodes would be 22 minutes. And YES, very easily. (Just in case a network executive reads this...)
Not to belittle you guys at all, the show is hilarious, but the episodes where Ben Schwartz is on are some of the funniest viral videos I've seen and have laughed harder at them than anything else on the Internet. Anything coming up in the near future with him? We hope so! BEN ARE YOU LISTENING!?
We try to film with Ben whenever we can. Hopefully there's more coming very soon!
Amir how do you feel about nuggets in real life? I'm a fan but I try not to eat them because they're terrible for me...
Amir's dad? One day.
Will the advice be coming from two new characters, "Jake and Amir", or yourselves? Great question! It's real advice from our real selves. So the comedic sensibility should be the same as Jake and Amir, since it's kinda just our sense of humor, though the actual characters won't be part of the podcast.
We slip into weird bits all the time though, you should listen and let us know what you think!
How many almonds would say is the perfect amount? Maybe one?
I dunno, two dozen?
Do you actually know a guy named mickey, and is he your friend? We don't. But we should.
How do you two get along outside of work? It looks as if you get along incredibly well but I wondered how far it extended outside of the job. Keep up the good work! :) Amir is my fucking brother.
Yo so... are you planning on doing any more multiple-parters? (like the girlfriend series, the one where amir dates jake's cousin, the various road trips and when jake quits college humor) Those are my favesies. We don't have any multiple parters in the works but we should start thinking about one! We haven't done a big one since last summer.
It's awesome that you guys are coming to London, sadly I can nay afford to go this time round but hopefully you will be back soon! You can't afford to go? Tweet at me, let's get you a ticket.
Have you ever produced an episode you thought wasn't your best work, but loved by your fans? Yes! It happens all the time. It happened recently with "Rolex." Sometimes you guys know better than us.
Will there be a Rap Teacher 4? I really hope so.
Are any of the scripts based off any of your real-life antics(only hugely exaggerated first)? So many of our scripts are based off of real life antics.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how old are you? 4.
Sorry to hear that your a Lakers fan. Lol.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE VIDEO YE HAVE DONE MINE IS MUFFIN MINE IS PROM.
With a deep V! That's a great question, and so hard to answer. I'm sure there are a million if I really sat and thought about it, but the one coming to my head right now is "HOLY GUAC! This i-pad is ridinky-donky." I just remembered I think there are outtakes where you can watch Amir say it for the first time.
ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 10 ONE BEING THE LOWEST TEN BEING THE SECOND HIGHEST 11 BEING THE HIGHEST WHAT DO YOU EAT FOR BREAKFAST On a scale of one to making sense...
Ya didn't.
Oh my fuck yes. Also can't wait to see you guys in June at the soho! Us too!
I have an idea for the podcast: Unique user submitted intro jingles every episode. That'd be awesome.
Where did you get the baby for "baby Bjorn" His father works for us. Cutest baby.
I was late to the game with discovering all of the Jake and Amir videos. I watched them all before one of my finals. I failed the class. Fuck you guys, but also thank you, because who needs school anyways. BOOM!
Jake's a bitch. I'm a bitch, okay? I am! I really am!
How did they convince you to let them pour that milk substance on your face multiple times. Ben just kept pouring it.
Amir, I saw you with a girl at the bean in Chicago a little while back. I didn't bother you. You're welcome. Hahhaa, you shoulda bothered me!
